Using The Self & Match System

The Self & Match System is a user-friendly program designed to teach self-monitoring. By teaching practical ways to engage in positive actions, our system helps individuals – whether they are students or clients – achieve behavioral, social, and academic success. Our research-based system of self-monitoring is used by educators, clinicians, and parents in the home to enhance skills, foster positive change, boost independence, and uplift lives. Self-monitoring is a proven behavioral intervention method that is not limited to specific age groups or special needs; it’s a concept present in everyday tools like fitness tracking and budget management.

3 Key Components

The Self & Match System incorporates three key components which work together to optimize behavior intervention results in a variety of settings. While Self & Match Workshops are an optional part of the Self & Match System, our users report they gain even more benefit by attending one of our workshops.

Self & Match Manual

The Self & Match Manual explains the theory behind how the Self & Match System works and serves as a compass for navigating the collaborative setup process. The comprehensive guides and practical tips included in the manual are based on the theory behind self-monitoring. The manual provides numerous examples of how the Self & Match System can be used across a variety of environments.

The Self & Match System forms are at the core of our system. The forms are constructed to serve as a dynamic tool that can change over time as behavior evolves and improves over time. There are 19 sample forms, each of which can be customized to create a positive collaboration between the educator/parent and the child/teen/young adult who is participating in the program.

Our workshops are an extension to the Self & Match manual and enable users to optimize the results of the Self & Match System. Attendees participate in an  interactive session and receive hands-on instruction on how to use the Self & Match system to best suit their individual needs. Self and Match is an easy-to-use resource for monitoring children/students behavior. This self-monitoring system can be used anywhere (home, school, or the community) and helps guide and scaffold children to reinforce the desired/expected behaviors and reduce negative/unwanted behaviors. Katie and Jamie provide wonderful training to support the implementation of this tool. Can not recommend this intervention enough, it really works!!!
