Research

  • Researchers have been specifically studying self-management since the 1960’s. Self-management using a social accountability check-in (match component) is highly effective and this has been outlined in the research since the 1970s.

More recent evidence of self-management interventions has been synthesized in the National Autism Center’s National Standards Report, Research Synthesis on Effective Intervention Procedures from the University of South Florida Center for Evidence-based Practice, and National Professional Development Center- Evidence Based Practices.  (Just to name of few)  Further, the Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) promotes safe, effective, science-based treatments for people with autism.  ASAT’s carefully curated booklist is a beacon of insight related to autism and research-based treatment options across the lifespan. We are honored to see the The Self & Match System manual included amongst the line-up of remarkable books penned by our esteemed leaders in the field.

The Self & Match System is firmly grounded in the principles of ABA and self-management interventions.  We are fortunate that other researchers and practitioners have also been investigating Self & Match. We welcome you to contact us to discuss future Self & Match research opportunities or to share research you have conducted.
